Medieval Goth?

Recently, I learned of a fascinating trend in the 1400s: painting parchment black before writing out music. There aren’t all that many examples of this technique known to us now, but one of them is the Basses danses dites de Marguerite d’Autriche, an instruction manual on the popular dances of Burgundy, France at the time.
